Friends Helping Friends

Hi, I am just starting to use aidpage again. I stopped because I couldnt figure out the messaging. I probably should have tried alittle harder but I have got it under control again. I am writing you because I see your name everywhere on this site. Could you help me with any information on recieveing grant money to help fund my education? Or maybe you know someone who could? I have been researching grants online and they seem to be only available to non-profits. Anyone who says they can help me wants money to do so and well if I had money I wouldnt need help I think. Any information would be greatly, deeply, appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Sooo stressful....

My name is Tracy. I am a 22 year old mother of 2 little girls and attending The Art institute Online for their Residential Planning Certificate. I am hoping to continue my education and obtain my bachelors degree in interior design. The only thing is I live in New York and the school I am attending is based out of Pittsburg. I qualified for about 500 dollars from the Pell grant and the rest I have to take student loans. I do not qualify for state aid because I am attending a Distance learning program. Once I have my certificate I will be qualified to get a job in a field that will enable me to provide for my family better than waiting tables (which is what I do now). I am wondering if anyone can give me information on federal grants that I would qualify for. Like I said I plan on continuing my education and I would like to continue through the Art Institute of Pittsburg but I cannot afford it. The only school in my area that offers interior design is Syracuse University and the tuition there is crazy. Plus it is still a 45 min drive and in the winter that wouldn’t be much fun. Also I am not so sure I would get accepted to that school. I would like to do as much research as possible in the next year till I am done with my certificate program so I am prepared to make the next step. Any information or suggestions will help, thank you so much!

a little update for everyone.... I still havent gotten any funding to help with my schooling. I did have an offer from a member for assistance but then they sort of disapeared. I was kind of hurt by that but I am doing all right. I have a GPA of 3.5, which is excellent for me concidering the stress I am under. I have desided to continue my education in syracuse for a masters in architecture and I would like to design hospitals and hotels. My children will be in school by that point and I want it so bad I dont care if I run my debt into the ground. So I am taking out student loans to help with my education. I have already borrowed 10,000 dollars on top of my tuition each year. I need it for many things. But I appreciate the help that everyone has offered, especially the wizard. I have come to the conclusion that there are not any education grants for my situation. At least from what I undterstand in the eligability sections. I could have miss understood but if anyone knows anything else that might help then please write to me. Thanks again!
